Sydney Harbour Bridge Tour
Sydney Harbour Bridge Tour
Stories of the history, construction and controversies
- Approx 2 hours
- 5 Tour Stops
- Audio + Puzzles
This Sydney Harbour Bridge Walk and Tour has been carefully curated by a former Bridgeclimb climb leader/guide, having climbed the bridge over 300 times. This tour offers detailed information and Sydney Harbour Bridge facts, as well as entertaining stories and facts about the bridge and it's construction.
This tour is suitable for tourists and locals alike, offering an insiders view into how the bridge was built, the bridge's cultural importance, and the sacrifices that were made to build this impressive structure.
Self-Guided with Audiobook Quality Commentary
The self-guided bridge audio tour is an entertaining and informative way to learn about the bridge and admire the views at a fraction of the cost of other similar experiences. It is a leisurely walk from under the bridge in The Rocks/Dawes Point, up onto the pedestrian walkway to the bridge pylon (right beside the entry to the Pylon Lookout).
5 Tour Stops of the Harbour Bridge
- Sydney Harbour Bridge history, from before it was build to present day
- Detailed information on the engineering and construction
- Life in The Rocks before the Bridge was built
- The Bridge's Opening and surrounding controversies
- The cultural impact of the bridge on Sydney and Australia
9 Escape-Room Style Puzzles to Solve
As you explore, you will also solve puzzles with Kenny the Koala, that will encourage you to interact with your surroundings as well as reveal fantastic views of the city and the harbour. It might be deciphering the secret codes hidden in the pylon granite, uncovering the names of the workers who fell to their deaths during construction, or looking around the heritage listed sites to figure out what items are missing - only you can solve them!
Note that puzzles range in difficulty just like an indoor escape room, so are suitable for both teenagers (10 and up) and adults.
Accessible through our Mobile App
Our tours are easy to use and accessed through the app (both Apple or Android compatible). You can pause/resume the tour as you please if you stop to explore or grab a bite to eat - we mention a few different pubs in the Rocks that we like ourselves to help guide you.
Note: This tour finishes at the entrance to the Pylon Lookout on the pedestrian walkway. We recommend finishing the tour by going up the pylon for one of the best views in Sydney (pylon entry fee isn't included in this tour price). You can take your own camera and photos up there (unlike when you climb the bridge).
Walking over the Sydney Harbour Bridge is free, yet entry to the pylon lookout at the southern end costs $25 for adults, and $12 for children. We recommend this as it offers great views of the harbour at a fraction of the cost of climbing the bridge.

Audio was itneresting, good stories and information, puzzles were challenging but fun (even for us as adults!), a big plus was the hotel drop off. We booked it before our flight and when we got to our hotel it was there waiting for us. So easy.
We absoloutely loved our Sydney Harbour Bridge tour!

We loved this self guided tour. The audio was clear and really interesting, but the fun puzzles were the highlight!
My partner and I had a great time. The app is nicely set up and easy to use. Great historical information with the audio playing. And the puzzles keep us really engaged. Overall a nice way to spend a few hrs out and about learning about Sydney.
Highly recommended day activity with kids! For the price, the app was so well designed, the adventure kit really well thought out, and audio narration top notch.
We had such a great time with our primary school aged kids, thank you and will be placing our order for the next Unlocked Tour!
